white fine grained crystal or powder; odorless; salty taste with a hint of bitterness; moisture absorbing; soluble in water; neutral aqueous solution; soluble in glycerol; insoluble in ethanol

Applications:  widely used for producing sodium sulfide, French blue, sodium silicate and other chemicals; in the paper-making, glass, dye, printing and pharmaceutical industries; as a filler in detergent; as a component in spinning bath for vinylon; in electro-bath for electroplating; in low chromate passivation solution for electroplated zinc layer.
